Torrential flooding caused extensive damage to the Avery drainage infrastructure. Working within the TDRA guidelines, assisted the City in the repair and replacement of this key piece of infrastructure.

Our Solution

Hayter Engineering provided the engineering support for the City of Avery to successfully apply to the Texas Department of Rural Affairs, Community Development Block Grant program for a Disaster Relief Culvert Replacement Project.

Improvements

Improvements included one 36" HDPE at Fort Worth Street culvert drainage, rock, concrete plus headwall and end wall; one 24" HDPE at Austin Street culvert drainage, rock, concrete plus headwall and end wall; 30 LF of 18" HDPE on the south side of Nevada Street; two 42" x 6' LF HDPE extensions on existing pipe at the intersection of Austin and Nevada Street; 765 LF of grading ditches to drain and re- seed; a permanent rock gabion; erosion control; fence; rock berm; and eight object marker signs.
