Both local citizens and university students benefit from sidewalk, crosswalk and drainage improvements.

Our Solution

This project was a joint effort between Texas A & M University and the City of Commerce. The University and the City expressed an interest in sidewalks and drainage for the safety of students and access to parking. Hayter Engineering provided engineering, bid & award, and construction phase services for the City of Commerce and the University.

Improvements include 1,163 LF of 5’ wide concrete sidewalks; 1,249 LF curb and gutter removal; 1,038 LF of new concrete curb and gutter with pavement repair.

The completed project includes additional crosswalks, curb ramps, driveway repair, signage, storm sewer inlets and pipes, landscaping, relocation of water meters, and stripping.
