Our Solution
Hayter Engineering assisted the Titus County Fresh Water District No. 1 to obtain a grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department from their Boating Access Grant Program.
This grant was funded with $292,500 in state funds which was 75% of the original project cost of $390,000. Improvements included a new 32 foot wide, two lane concrete boat ramp located along Ft. Sherman Dam Road on the eastern educe of Lake Bob Sandlin; a new fixed dock and sidewalks, parking lot and entrance road and new rest rooms.
Change Orders added 5 inch thick concrete instead of 6 inch rock and 2 inch asphalt on the parking lot and entrance road, a vinyl retaining wall to prevent soil erosion into the lake, and various added improvements to the restroom building and lighting facilities.
