Reno, Texas (Lamar County) segment of 135 mile Northeast Texas Trail completed.

Our Solution

Hayter Engineering assisted the City in obtaining grant funding and provided engineering services for an “Recreational Trail” grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department for the extension of the Reno Rail Trail from Airport Road east to 1/2 mile to the eastern city limits. Local matching funds were acquired for this grant with support from the Greater Paris Development Foundation, First Federal Community Bank, Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, and local and state representatives.

Hayter Engineering also coordinated efforts with TxDOT for the right-of-way crossing of FM 1508. The project consisted of 5,678 SY subgrade preparation; 3,781 SY base course and prime coat; 2,838 SY HMAC surface course; 50 LF 12"HDPE drainage pipe; and two crossing signs and posts.
