New sidewalks provide safe path and handicap access to downtown store fronts.

Our Solution

Hayter Engineering assisted the City of Quinlan’s EDC with a project that included decorative sidewalk replacements, ramps, and decorative guardrails on Main Street in the downtown business district. All improvements meet ADA accessibility requirements.

Improvements included:

  • 205 LF decorative steel guardrail

  • 660 LF of new 4” thick 8’ wide sidewalks

  • 6 decorative traffic islands

  • 1,417 LF decorative brick design along sidewalk

  • 827 LF curb and gutter

  • 2 handicap accessible ramps

  • 10 ADA curb ramps

  • Decorative street / pedestrian lighting

  • 233 SY asphalt pavement repairs

  • 180 LF crosswalk striping

  • 74 SY concrete handicap parking space / aisle

Project challenges included handicap accessible route across bank drive-thru, working along state right-of-way, protecting building fronts, and business access during construction.
