To meet the growing demand on their system, this project replaced Bonham's high service pump station with one that meets their current demand and will meet their projected demands for at least 20 years.

Our Solution

Hayter Engineering prepared the application for Bonham to apply to the Texas Water Development Board for a low interest loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to address TCEQ requirements. The project replaced the City’s ageing high service pump station with a new high service booster pump station to allow for future growth and provide improved water pressure throughout the City.

Improvements included a new high service booster pump station, site work, grading and paving, a CMU building to house the pumps with MCC control and equipment rooms, three high service centrifugal pumps with 150 HP (each) motors, yard piping, electrical and controls, SCADA communication, rehabilitation of two existing ground storage tanks and piping, and an 18” gate valve replacement.

This project was part of a larger $7,355,000 project, which also included: coating and repair of the DeRose elevated tank and two ground storage tanks; a new 500,000 gallon elevated water storage tank and the demolition of an existing 400,000 elevated tank; two contracts for water distribution mains; material procurement for repair of streets cut for water line installations; water meters procurement; water meter installation & Fixed-Read AMI System; and coating/repair of the Silo Road ground storage tank and Silo Road elevated tank.
