Faced with numerous citations for regulatory lapses, the rehabilitation of their 1950's treatment plant to modern standards was required.

Our Solution

The City of Trinidad was under an administrative enforcement order from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Hayter Engineering assisted the City in obtaining funding from USDA Rural Development to rehabilitate their existing surface water treatment plant to bring it into compliance with TCEQ regulations.

Improvements included

  • 1 new clarifier

  • 2 new filter underdrains and media

  • 3 new high service pumps, 1 new backwash pump

  • 2 filter transfer pumps

  • Chemical feed system

  • Chlorination disinfection system

  • Lab/office renovation

  • Process monitoring and SCADA equipment
